The Institute for Artists’ Estates is the platform for connecting with all those interested in and involved with artist estates.
We are aware of how important it is to learn from the experiences of others whilst interacting with like-minded peers. Therefore we bring together families and artist’s estate managers on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to share their knowledge and to help each other. Our biannual conferences are conceived to foster the exchange of experiences and networking between artists, their heirs and those entrusted with managing artists’ estates on a broader level and to provide examples of best practice.
The last conference presented the work of successful estates and focussed on the different phases of estate management, together with strategies for dealing with museums and archives, amongst other issues. It took place in Berlin on 14 and 15 September 2016. For more information please click here. The conference programme for the next conference in 2018 will be published in fall 2017.
